The State University of New York recently elevated five faculty members to the rank of Distinguished Professor, including a member of the Psychonomic Society Governing Board.  Dr. Jeanette Altarriba, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, is a professor of psychology and a University at Albany Collins Fellow. 

The title ranks above full professor and is conferred by the SUNY board of trustees to faculty who have made significant contributions to research and scholarship in their respective fields, garnering national or international prominence.

Psychology Pathways, a 5-year research project funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF),
is seeking STEM professionals with Psychology backgrounds to serve as volunteer mentors.
Mentors will be asked to video-record a “virtual mentor” (conversational virtual agent) to share
stories about their career path with psychology students at California State University, Fullerton
(CSUF) and beyond, as part of a STEM outreach intervention/study.

Involvement

1. Video-recording interviews

2. Interacting directly with students (optional) Video-recording interviews for your own virtual mentor on a self-serve web platform. Mentors can also make themselves available for one-on-one consultations or workshops/events on an as-needed basis.

Location: Remote
Time Commitment: Approximately 12-15 hours, scheduled flexibly
