Using the Internet to deliver maps to users is an exceptionally valuable tool. Hardware and software needs at the user end are very minimal. Overall, the total cost of ownership, per user, is relatively small. However, since there normally is a wide swing in the skill levels and needs of users, multiple Internet mapping applications must be set up to handle the various needs. The skill levels of users and the training available demand a variety of solutions, from simple and basic, to highly complex and powerful.

This presentation will explain the strategies of how one Minnesota County has worked to solve these issues. By using a multitude of online Internet mapping applications, Clay County is striving toward providing answers to many questions from various users. With 406 complete layers of information available, Clay County GIS has the ability to quickly meet any user's needs through the use of ESRI's ArcIMS.
