MN GIS/LIS Conference Highlights

The Minnesota GIS/LIS consortium will hold its 14th statewide conference on October 4-6, 2004 at the Civic Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Workshops will be held Monday, October 4, with the conference following on Tuesday and Wednesday.


A combination of half-day and full-day workshops will be offered on Monday. Workshop participants can select from a wide variety of topics, ranging from general introductory issues to specialized technical challenges. Complete workshop information will be included in the conference registration materials to be mailed in August.

Conference Format

The conference will begin with a plenary session Tuesday morning, followed by concurrent sessions and an awards lunch. Tuesday afternoon will bring more concurrent sessions, followed by the poster session and exhibitors' reception. Wednesday morning begins with concurrent sessions, and includes a closing plenary speaker at lunch. 

Printed Proceedings

Copies of the printed proceedings, including session abstracts, will be distributed to conference registrants. Abstracts will also be published on the Consortium's website after the conference.

Exhibit Hall

The vendor exhibit hall will showcase the latest GIS-related hardware and software, GIS products and services. The exhibit hall will be open Tuesday and Wednesday.

Evening Reception

Conference registration includes admission to the Exhibitors' Reception on Tuesday evening. Hors d' oeuvres and refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. The reception will be held in the exhibit hall, providing another opportunity to visit conference exhibitors.
