A Message from our President...

Happy Spring!
I am pleased to report back to the membership the Board of Directors approved a new Mission and Vision Statement for our organization on April 11, 2019. The task force
made up of Rich Harty, Victoria Henderson and Rich Rosa worked to create clear, concise and dynamic statements that represent NAEBA and our members. Please join me in thanking them for their efforts and I hope that you will support and promote these statements as we all work together to move NAEBA forward.

Vision Statement:
The vision of the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents is to be the preeminent trade association which champions exclusive buyer agency, consumer protection, and is a leader in the real estate industry.
Mission Statement:

The mission of the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents is to promote true exclusive buyer agency through education and advocacy, protecting real estate consumers from unethical and damaging practices, while adhering to the highest level of professional standards in the industry.

In January 2019, the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents Board of Directors accompanied by the NAEBA Referral Service Inc., Board of Directors began work on this fiveyear strategic plan to strengthen NAEBAs success and sustainability as it serves its members through 2023 and beyond. Led by President Andi DeFelice, the Board represented a broad cross section of leaders from across the country. The group participated in a summit which covered the following items:

  • How NAEBA can thrive as a “purpose driven” organization.
  • How NAEBA can help members protect home buying consumers in increasingly competitive and rapidly changing business and marketplace conditions.
  • How NAEBA can enhance the impact of the Exclusive Buyer Agent in its mission.
  • How the business and membership model can better meet the needs of members and the Exclusive Buyer Agent profession now and through 2023.

The five year plan was approved on April 11, 2019 and along with our new Mission and Vision Statement, NAEBA will set forth and embrace four strategic goals to include: MEMBER EMPOWERMENT, MEMBERSHIP MODEL, CONSUMER OUTREACH and BUSINESS MODEL & TECHNOLOGY REGENERATION.  CLICK HERE to review the 2019-2023 NAEBA Strategic Plan in its entirety.  I welcome all feedback and can be reached at 617.285.2845

NRSI Update
An update from David Alvarez, Director of Marketing, NRSI


As the first quarter of 2019 came to a close, the month of March delivered solid results. The NAEBA Referral Service (NRSI) matched 317 prospective home buyers with agents to begin their property search. Of the 317 prospective home buyers, 183 were matched with NAEBA Agents, 126 were matched with Best-Non-NAEBA (BNN) Agents, and 8 agent requests were unplaceable. Revenue experienced a 9% increase when compared to first quarter 2018 that resulted in 28 closings for the month of March 2019. Lastly, web traffic also saw a significant increase as 6,313 visitors visited during the month of March 2019. NAEBA's 2019 CEBA Chair

Margaret Lebenson, Elika Real Estate, New York, NY

After serving last year on the CEBA Committee, Margaret will now lead the CEBA Committee as the Chair and take the 10 CEBA courses to an online platform partnering with Dearborn Real Estate Education. Margaret will also identify and establish a procedure to track the CE requirement annually for those NAEBA Members holding the CEBA /CEBA-M designation. Washington, D.C. — Today the Consumer Federation of America released an extensively researched report titled, The Agency Mess: Home Buyer and Seller Confusion and Costs Related to Diverse and Poorly Enforced State Laws About the Role and Responsibility of Real Estate Agents. The report incorporates CFA’s research of the literature on real estate agency, CFA’s mystery shopper survey of agents, and a national consumer survey by ORC International.  READ MORE HERE
