A Message from our President...

It’s hard to believe that it is already summer.  Hopefully we are all looking forward to a busy season and the ability to also find time for some R&R.

Next month, President elect Rich Harty and I will be attending the NAREE (National Association of Real Estate Editors) conference in Austin, Texas.  There we will have the opportunity to meet, one on one, with Real Estate journalists from around the

country.  Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting Ilyce Glink, who has featured NAEBA in her best-selling book 100 Questions Every First Time Home Buyer Should Ask. 

It is our goal to come away from the conference with media contacts that we can match with members so we can all start to be featured in our local press.  Obviously, the topic of dual agency will be top of mind as we meet with the editors.  Is there another topic you would like discussed? Please let either Rich or me know and we will try to work it in.

As you'll see further in this newsletter, NAEBA Staff and many dedicated member volunteers have been working on many projects including the NAEBA 2020 Conference, CEBA Online Course delivery, NAEBA Member Resource Library, NAEBA Educational Webinars, NEW NAEBA podcasts and Public Relations through our Meltwater Platform.  We all acknowledge 2018 was a year of recovery and 2019 is the year of rebuilding.  This is evident in our renewed committees, volunteer participation and staff support.  Things may not be moving as quickly as some would like, but they are moving!  Check it out, offer assistance and applaud the efforts of our staff and volunteers.

Moving forward in a BIG WAY…

In last month’s newsletter, I shared the culmination of much hard work and effort of staff and volunteer leadership unveiling the NAEBA Five Year Strategic Plan that highlighted four Goals that serve as our blueprint to empower NAEBA to maintain its position as a relevant, nimble, forward thinking organization. I’m pleased to announce that we have finalized the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to overhaul the NRSI Database as well as the back-end of the consumer website ( In keeping with the strategic plan’s goal of technology regeneration, the project will address much needed database pain points including:

  • Ability to view sent leads with time stamps in real time to ensure leads are received by agents and buyers. 
  • Tag database data for accurate and efficient reports. 
  • Real Time Text Alerts to Agents when new leads are sent. 
  • New Agent Request Form on 
  • Online link where agents can provide NRSI with lead updates. 
  • Ability to control End-to-end functionality of the consumer website and CRM platforms. 
  • Run monthly reports/checks to ensure security and updates are working properly on website. 
  • Update of automated lead process system.

The database itself is quite dated and will be completely reconstructed to keep up with the evolving needs of consumers and the referral service. We met with four qualified vendors and explained the ongoing challenges of our current system and subsequently fielded timely proposals from each. After much due diligence we selected Resound Creative Media, LLC as our agency partner to assist us with the project as the most qualified and appropriate partner to elevate our technology and to ensure we have the most current and proper tools necessary to efficiently manage the needs of the business.  Please join me in thanking David Alvarez for his time and commitment as he ran lead on the RFP process.  We are extremely excited to welcome the very talented staff and leadership at RESOUND to the NAEBA Team! 


June will focus on helping NAEBA Members in the area of PRACTICE MANAGEMENT specifically the benefits of hiring, growing and engaging your team. NAEBA is pleased to welcome guest speaker, Linda Michaels, Owner, AZ HR Hub, Phoenix, Arizona. Linda serves as the Central Valley Area Chair for SHRM of Greater Phoenix (SHRMGP) which is a local affiliate chapter of the National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest professional membership organization in Human Resource Management. Our PRACTICE MANAGEMENT focus will be delivered in two webinars on two complimenting topics on June 10th June 17th. Recordings will be available to NAEBA members post live delivery.

NAEBA relaunches the Member Resource Library

A big thank you goes out to Andrew Show who worked many hours with staff reviewing and updating the contents of the old Member Resource Library.  His contributions included the review of the best of the old content plus updated new material, giving us a great place to start with the RELAUNCH of this Member Benefit.  Our library contains documents and resources shared by members to members.  The goal of the Resource Library is to share member’s contributions with each other for ideas, guidance, education and inspiration.  We have added a new feature called “Mental Vitamins” –Articles by "masters" such as Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar, Tom Hopkins and others.  NOW IT IS YOUR TURN! NRSI Update
An update from David Alvarez, Director of Marketing, NRSI


As we kicked off the 2nd quarter of 2019, the month of April carried over positive momentum created throughout the 1st quarter of the year.  The NAEBA Referral Service (NRSI) matched 305 prospective home buyers with buyer agents to begin their property search.  Of the 305 prospective home buyers, 167 were matched with NAEBA Agents, 128 were matched with Best-Non-NAEBA (BNN) Agents, and 10 agent requests went unplaced.  Revenue was essentially flat compared to a year ago falling by the slightest of margins under last year’s mark.  Additionally, the month of April 2019 produced a total of 30 closings between NAEBA and BNN Agents, while web traffic also saw a significant increase as 6,740 visitors visited during the month of April 2019 compared to 3,756 a year ago.  Lastly, we encourage NAEBA Members with questions, or feedback regarding NRSI, to please feel free to email us at
