PSDA's Distribution Solutions Expo is next week. The event is April 23-24 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, and you should be there. Why?

Well, a trade show's value equals the amount of practical tips, informative news and insightful perspective attendees apply when they return to their offices. BIG Ideas-BIG Results Lead Generation Campaign

The PEAK Awards are upon us once again! The PEAK Awards recognize industry firms that innovate and help customers grow. Since 1995, the program has awarded teams that make bold decisions, connect with customers in new ways and deliver benefits to end users.

Last year, Your Packaging Source of Westfield, N.J., won a Grand Award in the "Marketing Solution: Integrated Marketing Campaign – 3-D/Visual Based" category for its submission "BIG Ideas-BIG Results Lead Generation Campaign."

The objectives of this campaign were to: 1) Demonstrate the effectiveness of targeted, relevant, dimensional mail of generating response; 2) Generate interest in dimensional mailers for lead generation; 3) Initiate the sales process with C-level executives of large multilocation resellers of promotional and print products; and 4) Provide a best-practice model for lead generation programs that could be used and sold by other print and marketing service providers.

The mailing was sent to 47 people at 34 companies. Twenty-seven people from 22 companies visited the landing pages. Fifty-seven percent of the target audience visited landing pages and 65 percent of companies visited. Thirteen people from 12 companies submitted a response. There was a 27 percent response rate by name and 35 percent response rate by company. The target audience was all resellers of print and promotional products. The annual revenues of the 22 companies that went to the landing page are in excess of $2 billion.

Printco's Phil Sperling Promoted to President/CEO

PSDA member Printco Inc. recently promoted Phil Sperling to president/CEO. Sperling, who served as CFO for the past four years, marks a milestone for Printco coming under its third generation of family leadership, preceded by Fred Sperling and Ken Sperling. Ken Sperling will be transitioning to his new position of business development director.

"I am proud of our company's accomplishment of being a part of only 12 percent of all family businesses that make it to a third generation. I am honored to be a part of all our current and past employees that have contributed to the success of Printco's 56 year history."
The Flesh Company Adds to Sales Staff

PSDA member The Flesh Company recently announced the promotion of Diana Roper to sales representative. Diana is replacing Jamie Ellis, who will be leaving the company due to her husband's new job position in Florida. Roper will be responsible for managing currently assigned accounts as well as growing new business through leads and prospect development.

Additionally, Tim Garris has been added to the Parsons team as a sales assistant. "We are certainly sorry to see Jamie depart; however, it is a great opportunity for her family, and we are fortunate to have a seasoned support staff ready to step in," said Paul Barrett, director of sales. "Both Diana and Tim have worked hard to earn these assignments, and we're excited about the positive impact they'll have in representing Flesh Company sales." Roper and Garris have been with the company in both production and customer support areas.

Independent Folders Launches New Packaging Website

PSDA member Independent Folders is proud to announce the launch of a new website for its paperboard packaging line at

Independent's products include standard paperboard packaging items — such as tote, tuck and mailer-style boxes — as well as high end, custom-designed pieces for point of purchase displays and promotional packaging.

The packaging sector has experienced growth in recent years with the North American industry expected to grow $186 billion by 2017, according to Smithers Pira.

Bill Ziemendorf, president and CEO, expressed enthusiasm at the company's increased focus on the paperboard packaging marketplace back in November. "We're very excited about the prospects this offers for serving our customers, and how our employees will benefit from the growth," he said. "This move will further enhance our customer experience and strengthen our competitive position."
