Clemson Offers Mailing, Fulfillment and Marketing Services Webinar Series to PSDA
Once again this summer, the Department of Graphic Communications at Clemson University is teaching an online class on “Mailing, Fulfillment and Marketing Services” and is offering it to the industry as a webinar series. The webinar series runs from May 27 through July 29.
The class is not designed for mail specialists; rather it is for the CSR, sales rep, designer, planner or even the operator of the press equipment to help them understand the critical elements in the mail prep. Almost every printer can tell a story about a mail mistake that cost them thousands of dollars in lost postage savings. This series is designed to educate your team as to what to look for, what to avoid and how to maximize the potential customer response rates.
You can pick and chose which webinar sessions you want to share with your employees, you can watch all 20, or you can pick the five or six that best fit your company. The topics include basic USPS guidelines for First Class Mail and Standard Mail, mailpiece design, database management, mail prep software applications, basic elements of a fulfillment operation, fulfillment implementation procedures, trade show support and opportunities, marketing strategies for the print industry, and how to track and measure the results. A full schedule is available online.
There will be 20 sessions approximately 50 minutes each, and all will be available until Sept. 30 for viewing. The cost is $400 for the 10 weeks/20 webinars, but PSDA members receive a $50 discount.
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. John Leininger.

TFP Data Systems Rolls out Enhanced W-2/1099 Processing Service
Electronic filing is quickly becoming the preferred method for filing 1099s, W-2s and other business tax forms due to its accuracy, safety and speed. Now, thanks to an enhanced, IRS-authorized e-file platform, partners of PSDA member TFP Data Systems can offer this in-demand option to their customers with minimum effort and maximum benefits.
The setup couldn't be simpler. On the front end, businesses receive a co-branded e-file website personalized with the company logo and an “About Us” section. Customers access the e-file site from a link on the company's primary site.
Behind the scenes, TFP provides comprehensive processing services, including electronic filing with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Social Security Administration (SSA), as well as printing and mailing recipient copies from a secure, SOC-certified facility.
“E-file is more convenient, cost-effective and secure than paper forms and software, making it the perfect filing solution for small businesses,” said Christian Ferris, E-File product director. “Customers can enter recipient information directly on the site or use our QuickBooks plugin or Excel template to upload data.”
The new site also features smoother navigation and enhanced functionality. For example, the upgraded e-file platform will now support additional form 1042-S (foreign workers receiving U.S. income) and allow for easy file corrections online. In addition, the site can now file for recipients with foreign addresses.
“We're thrilled to extend this full-service e-file option to our TFP partners,” Ferris said. “As more and more businesses are moving their W-2 and 1099 filing online, now is the time to get in on this market. Once customers use e-file and recognize its ease and convenience, they're committed. This provides ‘stickiness' in the tax forms category — something we really haven't seen before.”

McCourt Label has always strived to be responsive to the needs of its customers, which is an aspect that defines the Pennsylvania-based company. According to Dave Ferguson, the company's president:“The new press compliments our strong flexo printing capability making us more competitive in the short to medium run market. Our distributor customers will benefit from our increased ability to run multiple lot jobs very efficiently while maintaining very high print quality.” The new press is also ideal for printing consecutive numbering, barcoding and variable print jobs.
