PSDA recently mailed to members the October 2011 issue of Print Solutions magazine, which features the 2012 Sourcing Guide, the association's exclusive directory for buyers of print and related services. From envelopes and labels to plastic products and tags, all major categories are represented in this annual, comprehensive directory of providers of print and related services, including PSDA member companies (spotlighted with blue headers and color logos) and select non-member companies. New this year: Print Solutions showcases the products and services of 24 selected companies in Featured Listings. Also new this year the magazine spotlights several uniquely positioned PSDA member companies that manufacture equipment or tools used by suppliers to create printed products, as well as paper mills, ink companies and providers of films and adhesives.

Last week, PSDA Executive Vice President visited with PSDA members (and former Regional Directors) Mike Faley of Pioneer Business Forms and P.J. Quinlan of GenForms, a division of Ennis Inc., as well as Joe Fries of Fontis Solutions and Irv Michlin of IMCOM. PSDA member Formax recently launched a new pressure seal system, plus a scanning system for document data integrity and verification, and a new tabletop air jogger. The new FD 2054 Pressure Sealer is a fully automatic pressure sealer that provides the ultimate tabletop solution for processing pressure sensitive one-piece mailers. The sealer automatically detects and adjusts for 11", 14" and 17" forms, can store up to 35 fold settings, utilizes a drop-in three-roller feed system, and can process at speeds of up to 16,450 per hour. The Formax Data Integrity Scanning System provides simultaneous data integrity and print quality inspection for mail processing, secure printing and label inspection applications. The new Formax FD 402TA1 Tabletop Air Jogger is an ideal solution for print shops and production houses with limited space.
Dennie Hager recently joined Grand Prairie, Texas-based CFC Print Solutions, a PSDA member, as a vice president and partner. Hager will be responsible for sales in the southeastern part of the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Hager brings a significant amount of experience to the company, including more than 20 years at Cenveo/Printegra as a divisional general manager and director of manufacturing. Managing senior partner Tommy Gillis expressed his and the company's excitement for Hager's arrival, noting that he "completes our national sales team and allows for CFC to have a presence in every region of the country."
Repacorp Inc., a label manufacturer and PSDA member, recently purchased EFI's Jetrion 4900, a versatile system that combines EFI's Jetrion UV digital presses with an industrial web finishing and transport system. The company decided to purchase the high-quality press to increase efficiency and provide more competitive pricing to distributors. Repacorp already has two digital presses and laser cutting systems in its Ohio headquarters facility; this latest purchase will add digital capabilities to its Wisconsin facility. Executive Vice President Tony Heinl commented, "This high quality digital press will allow us to print short- and medium-run orders from print file straight through to finished roll."
Nationwide Envelope, a division of Northeastern Envelope Co., a PSDA member, is relocating and expanding its operations to Paulding County, GA. The company, which is headquartered in Pennsylvania, outgrew its facility in Atlanta and began looking for a new Georgia location in June. The company recently purchased a 72,000-square-foot industrial building in Paulding County for its operations. Nationwide Envelope expects the new facility to employ 25 associates within the first year of operation; that number is expected to increase to 40 by 2013. The expansion is a result of strong growth within Nationwide Envelope's printing division, as well as plans to add envelope manufacturing to the operation.
PSDA member Wise, a trade manufacturer providing business forms, commercial printing, document services and marketing services, recently became an approved manufacturer of prescription pad products with the Florida Department of Health, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy. Wise surpassed all three characteristic categories required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) with standard security features including void pantograph, heat sensitive Rx symbol, artificial watermark, blue or green background, a listing of all security features on back, reverse Rx, micro-printing, chemical reactive paper, toner adhesion coating and the Georgia seal of approval.
