Late yesterday, PSDA launched a new website with an updated visual design, navigation and overall look and feel. The content has been reorganized in order to make it easier to navigate. We have also created a desktop shortcut to make the website easier to access; download the file here.
With yesterday's launch, PSDA also introduced pageONE, a one-stop shop for relevant and timely information. pageONE contains a PSDA blog, links to industry and PSDA member blogs and resources, and a live sourcing request feed. We encourage you to utilize this resource and submit other blogs, website links or relevant articles that you'd like to see included on the page.
PSDA is also pleased to announce some changes to the Print Solutions e-newsletter. The e-newsletter will now shift its delivery schedule to twice monthly, and starting on Nov. 17 will contain more unique content that readers will find beneficial. Read more about pageONE and other PSDA updates in a message from Executive Vice President Matt Sanderson in the PSDA blog.

PSDA member Ward/Kraft Inc. has recently demonstrated an increase in production efficiency on continuous EDP labels in quantities of 50,000 or more. The company's Specialty Labels & Coatings Division offers large quantities of EDP labels at a competitive price by using a proprietary process. Its products include continuous pin fed and continuous laser labels. In other company news, Ward/Kraft's Labels Division is experiencing significant growth in the RealCard product line. The combination of both plastic membership card and laser printable form can be fed through the 8.5" or 11" feed path of the printer. Ward/Kraft has partnered with several laser printer manufacturers that have begun promoting RealCard when they sell their printers, creating an important channel increase in volume.
Print manufacturer and PSDA member Data Management Inc. celebrated its 50th anniversary in early October by honoring the values of the company's founder, the late Robert T. Hincks. Nearly 60 family members, friends and employees gathered in Norfolk, CT, to remember Hincks, who was described as a "smart, creative and hard-working" man who treated everyone with kindness. Data Management began in 1961 with the introduction of a simplified, high-quality bookkeeping system. The company grew by developing other product lines — including business checks, medical forms and gift certificates — and most recently entered the global marketplace with its innovative badges for secure and affordable visitor management.
PSDA member and label manufacturer Repacorp Inc. recently began offering a Distributor Quote Module to help distributors meet the increasing demand for shorter label runs, high-quality printing and quick delivery. Repacorp promises to help distributors enter the digital label industry in 10 to 15 minutes by providing a code that links the distributor's website to an instant online quote module for a one-time fee of $69. The Quote Module provides distributor pricing and the ability to control margins. The company provides a second link to be placed on an intranet — or on a web browser — so that instant quotes can be provided while on the phone with customers. Of the module's value, Executive Vice President Tony Heinl added: "Studies show that the quicker you provide a quote, the more orders you will receive."
Victor Printing Inc., a PSDA member, recently installed an HP Scitex FB500 Printer to supplement existing sign printing capabilities and to offer innovative printing services on a variety of rigid materials. The FB500 has the ability to load, print and collect media simultaneously; it has fast print speeds and dry times; it gives Victor Printing the ability to create high quality prints on virtually any rigid and flexible media; and the use of the new printer's white ink allows the company to offer a full range of capabilities to its customers.
