More than 1,000 attendees at last week's 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo in Chicago experienced a variety of educational sessions to help them implement new strategies and transform their businesses. Key Takeaways from 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo

PSDA's 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo, held last week in Chicago, was packed with outstanding educational sessions, compelling keynotes and a crowded trade show. You couldn't leave the event without a few ideas that can help you in all aspects of your business.

Look for comprehensive post-event coverage on PSDA's website and in the July issue of Print Solutions. In the meantime, here are several key takeaways from the conference that you can put to use right now.

1. Digital content is a springboard to print.
Many of the ideas presented by speakers involved using digital content as a springboard for selling print. You might not want to sell someone a simple, short code text marketing program. You might not even make a lot of money at it. But once you're involved in that business, it changes how the end user sees you. Now you've got a great shot at the print business, too.

2. Print is not dead.
The conference was filled with terrific examples of how the digital content explosion is driving print. Twitter feeds are turning into books. Google and Yahoo! are using direct mail to market advertising services. Fortune 500 companies taking proven social media content and turning it into permanent, high-value content to market their brands. Print is alive and kicking. It just might not always look like it used to.

PEAK Award Winners Honored at PSDA Conference

PSDA would like to thank all participants in this year's Print Excellence and Knowledge (PEAK) Awards competition. The PEAK Awards acknowledge the print industry's best in supporting customer needs and providing outstanding value-added products and services through creativity in design, production, fulfillment and other services. All winning entries were on display in the PEAK Awards booth at the 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo. Winners were also honored at a general session where representatives of winning companies received their prestigious PEAK Awards.

Improve Your Effectiveness with DISC Profile Assessment

Claudia St. John of Affinity HR Group LLC joined PSDA at the 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo last week, sharing her expertise with conference attendees in three sessions including Becoming a High-Performing Customer Service Team. Be recognized as an industry leader in Print Solutions, the official magazine of PSDA.
