Key Takeaways from 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo

By Heidi Tolliver-Nigro, Print Solutions Magazine
PSDA's 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo, held last week in Chicago, was packed with outstanding educational sessions, compelling keynotes and a crowded trade show. You couldn't leave the event without a few ideas that can help you in all aspects of your business.

Look for comprehensive post-event coverage on PSDA's website and in the July issue of Print Solutions. In the meantime, here are several key takeaways from the conference that you can put to use right now.

1. Digital content is a springboard to print.
Many of the ideas presented by speakers involved using digital content as a springboard for selling print. You might not want to sell someone a simple, short code text marketing program. You might not even make a lot of money at it. But once you're involved in that business, it changes how the end user sees you. Now you've got a great shot at the print business, too.

2. Print is not dead.
The conference was filled with terrific examples of how the digital content explosion is driving print. Twitter feeds are turning into books. Google and Yahoo! are using direct mail to market advertising services. Fortune 500 companies taking proven social media content and turning it into permanent, high-value content to market their brands. Print is alive and kicking. It just might not always look like it used to.

Top Trade Printers to Be Featured in July issue of Print Solutions

Be recognized as an industry leader in Print Solutions, the official magazine of PSDA. We are currently reaching out to member companies asking for their participation in the 2011 "Top Trade Printers" survey, the results of which will be published in the July 2011 issue of Print Solutions. The only way to potentially be featured in our influential, comprehensive and popular "Top Trade Printers" coverage is to respond to this short survey by TOMORROW. Print Solutions is distributed to more than 9,000 industry professionals.

To complete this survey, you'll need your organization's total sales figures for your 2009 and 2010 fiscal years, so make sure to have those numbers handy. In addition, take the time to share your insights on the survey's final page regarding your past year in business and the year ahead. Besides providing much-needed context to the data you provide, your responses to these open-ended queries may help your company to be featured in additional coverage in this issue (and/or a future issue) of Print Solutions.

Access and complete the survey by TOMORROW.

Note: If you have already completed and submitted the survey, thank you; you DO NOT need to submit it again.
