PSDA member companies and their employees can take advantage an online training program that is available at special PSDA member pricing. The programoffered in partnership with Total Training Networkwas tailored for PSDA by your peers on the PSDA Education Committee. The program provides member companies with access to a 12-course library of streaming video-based courses designed to improve the effectiveness of sales, customer service and management professionals. PSDA member Wise has recently added three new individuals to its management team. Bob Saunders, vice president of sales, holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Miami University in Oxford, OH. Saunders brings more than 24 years' experience with public, private and startup operations, serving most recently as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Cenveo's envelopes, forms and labels business unit. Greg Spiros, general manager Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the University of Memphis. His background is extensive in operations, sales, customer relations, financial and strategic management at the plant, regional and corporate levels. Mark Wells, corporate controller, is a graduate of Georgia State University and is an active and licensed CPA in the state of Georgia. Wells brings to Wise 25 years of proven financial management experience.
PSDA member Ennis Inc. reported financial results for the first quarter ended May 31.

For the quarter, consolidated net sales increased by $2.6 million, or 1.8 percent, from $140.7 million for the quarter ended May 31, 2010 to $143.3 million for the quarter ended May 31, 2011. Print sales for the quarter were $67.1 million, compared to $67.8 million for the same quarter last year, or a decrease of 1 percent. Apparel sales for the quarter were $76.1 million, compared to $73.0 million for the same quarter last year, or an increase of 4.2 percent. Net earnings for the quarter decreased from $13.0 million, or 9.3 percent of sales, for the quarter ended May 31, 2010 to $11.4 million, or 8 percent of sales, for the quarter ended May 31, 2011.
Cleveland-based print service provider, Jakprints, which specializes in direct-mail campaigns, stickers, apparel and other promotional items for musicians, artists, designers and businesses, recently installed an HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press. It is HP's flagship sheetfed press, offering true offset- and photo-quality imaging at speeds up to 120 four-color, letter-size pages per minute. It is suited to handle short- to medium-run length jobs, as well as high-value applications, such as variable-data-driven marketing collateral, photo books and personalized direct mail. In addition, the press prints on a wide variety of HP Indigo-certified, environmentally credentialed third-party media.
Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. has recently signed a non-binding letter of intent to buy Bravo Solutions Inc. of Elmira, NY. Bravo is a supplier of specialty synthetic and paper substrates for digital printing. The acquisition will include all brands and certain assets, including manufacturing capacity for converted products, which will remain in Elmira. Bravo substrates are designed and engineered for both toner and wet-ink printing systems. Mohawk plans to fully integrate the Bravo portfolio, including pressure sensitive, synthetic substrates, integrated products, embedded card sheets and magnetic materials, into the existing Mohawk digital product offering creating an extensive portfolio of digital substrates. The companies are working together to agree on definitive purchase so as to transition sales of all products to Mohawk by early third quarter.
