New Education Session Added to Small Distributor Summit Schedule

Julie Shaffer, vice president of Digital Technologies at Printing Industries of America, will present a session titled Integrated Printing: The Future of Print in a Technological World at PSDA's 2011 Small Distributor Summit, Sept. 16–18 in Pittsburgh. Attendees will examine a 12-step process to combine print, new communication channels and mediums, and web-based management systems to enhance their company's product offerings, building a business model of the future.

Last week, PSDA staff members visited with SICPA Securink Corp. at its North American headquarters in Springfield, VA. Submit Information for the PSDA's 2012 Buyers' Guide

The October 2011 issue of Print Solutions magazine will feature PSDA's 2012 Buyers' Guide. The annual guide is used by distributors of printed and other products when faced with sourcing questions. If your organization uses distributors and would like a complimentary listing in this popular edition of the magazine, you must follow the instructions below and create your company's profile by Monday, Sept. 12.

  • Visit the 2012 Buyers' Guide data collection Web page.
  • Create your user account: all respondents must create a user ID and password by filling in the requested information. Your PSDA website username and password will not work in this system.
  • Once you've created your user account, you'll be prompted to follow three steps:
    • Step 1: Select 'create company listing' and fill in the requested information.
    • Step 2: If you have branch locations that you want included, add them during step 2.
    • Step 3: Make sure to submit your responses so your information will be captured by the system. You will receive an email confirmation once your information has been successfully submitted.
  • In the event you need to make changes, you will be able to log in and update your company's information at any time on or before close of business Monday, Sept. 12.

Please note that we are using a new process to collect information this year, so your company must follow the above instructions by Sept. 12 in order to be included in the 2012 Buyers' Guide.

American Solutions for Business Announces Acquisition

PSDA member and print distributor American Solutions for Business recently finalized an agreement with a division of Advance Business Graphics (ABG). Ten sales associated and support personnel and five customer service individuals will be joining the American team. The acquired offices have focused on the health care industry, credit unions and other traditional transactional businesses. American CEO Larry Zavaldi expressed his delight with the agreement, commenting that the expertise and customer service skills of ABG will no doubt lead to growth opportunities.
