What Does Adobe's Creative Cloud Mean for You?

In case you haven’t heard the news, Adobe’s Creative Suite has gone to the cloud. After Creative Suite 6, Adobe users will no longer be able to purchase Adobe design and layout programs like Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator outright. Instead, the software will be available only on a subscription basis downloaded from the cloud (although it is run on your desktop, not an Internet browser, so it’s not truly cloud software).
Pricing for the software, renamed Adobe Creative Cloud, ranges from $10-50 per month for individual licenses, with discounts for owners of CS3 or higher good for one year. Special discount pricing is available for educational users and enterprise teams. Licenses give users access to the ongoing updates, as well as earlier versions of the software if they prefer.

Gill-line Promotes New Product with Funny YouTube Video
PSDA member Gill-line recently introduced a new product, The Bum Box. The Bum Box is a person box seat that's light, easy to carry, durable and supports up to 264 pounds. The company said it is ideal for product launches, contests and website offers, among other uses. To help promote The Bum Box, Gill-line uploaded a YouTube video called “What does Bum Box say?” Watch it here.
Acucote Announces New Vice President Position
PSDA member Acucote, a manufacturer of pressure-sensitive products, recently expanded its sales and marketing team. Dan O'Connell accepted the position of vice president. O'Connell brings more than 30 years of sales, marketing and operational management experience in the pressure-sensitive labelstock industry. “Dan's main focus is to continue to grow top line sales, primarily through expanding customer market share and facilitating the launching of customized solution-oriented products,” said Gene Lauffer, chief operating officer.

American Solutions for Business Holds Winter Conference: 'Living the American Dream'
PSDA member American Solutions for Business, located in Glenwood, Minn., held its national sales conference in Orlando, Fla., this January. A total of 305 sales associates registered for the conference and more than 120 vendors participated in the ASB Vendor Expo.
The four-day convention was held Jan. 4-7 in conjunction with the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI) Orlando show. The ASB conference theme, “Living the American Dream,” reflected the new mission statement, which was formally revealed during Saturday's general session. ASB's 10-member leadership team, who wrote the mission statement, also identified the core values and cornerstones that are fundamental elements of the company's vision.
“Our new mission statement is simple and straightforward,” said Larry Zavadil, the company's founder and CEO. “We help people live their American dream. This statement expresses for us the essence of what American is all about. As an employee-owned company, we provide value to our stakeholders through entrepreneurial relationships and solutions. It's that spirit that allows us to implement changes that make us better so that we can reach out and provide solutions and growth opportunities for customers, sales associates, employees and our vendor partners.”
ASB holds two sales conferences per year for the purpose of bringing sales associates, home office personnel and vendor partners together for education and networking opportunities and to share business updates.
