CEO Summit Pre-Event Webinar: PSDA Members Collaborate on Cross-Media Campaign

The CEO Summit discussion begins Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 2:00 p.m. EST during a one-hour webinar presented by James Michelson of JFM Concepts and Phil Sperling of Printco Inc. The speakers will discuss how to:

  • Sell and successfully execute a cross-media marketing campaign
  • Fulfill complex projects while documenting ROI
  • Identify and budget for effective nontraditional media
  • Improve success rates and leverage the distributor model to your advantage

The webinar is free to PSDA members who have registered for CEO Summit; PSDA members who aren't eligible to attend the Summit can attend the online session for $39, and the nonmember fee is $79. The discussion will continue in-depth Feb. 9-11 in New Orleans.

PSDA Staff Profile: Meet Frances Moffett

Get to know members of your association staff in selected editions of the Print Solutions e-newsletter. This week, we feature Frances Moffett.

What is your role on the PSDA staff team?
I'm the editorial assistant for Print Solutions magazine and for this weekly e-newsletter.

As a relatively new PSDA staff member, what are your initial impressions of the association and the industry it represents?
The print distribution industry encompasses so much, and PSDA does a great job of providing its members with the resources it needs to stay ahead in this ever-changing business.

What is your favorite section of Print Solutions magazine and why?
The Features section is probably my favorite. There are always new and interesting stories in this section by authors with unique, fresh perspectives who speak to the many different areas of the print distribution industry.

What are some "fun facts" or surprising pieces of information about you?
In my spare time I also manage and edit an online magazine geared toward young, trendy African-American women. I interview at least one celebrity a month, which makes the material fun and interesting!

Brandt Affixing Celebrates 25 Years as PSDA Member

2011 marks the 25th anniversary of Carrollton, Texas-based Brandt Affixing Inc.'s membership in PSDA. Brandt Affixing is a supplier of membership card, magnet, label and bar code solutions. Company spokesman Ed Brandt said, "From our first year of membership in 1986, we have seen new products emerge, evolve and mature, only to be replaced by better products. We have seen customers, competitors and suppliers come and go. Our company has successfully adapted to changes in our industry by continuing to introduce new products and services to meet the ever-changing needs of our distributor partners. Our premier industry association, now known as PSDA, is also experiencing a similar evolution, and we are excited about what the future has in store."

Relyco Reports Substantial Customer Growth

PSDA member Relyco – a provider of value-added business printing solutions, business equipment and check printing solutions – recently announced that the company had closed out a very successful 2010 by adding more than 450 new customers in the fourth quarter. Since 2008, Relyco has grown its customer base by 25 percent. In the final quarter of 2010, Relyco increased its customer base and expanded existing business across all vertical markets for its entire line of products. Notable new customers included Lockheed Martin Corporation, Five Below Inc., The Hershey Company, Shell Oil Products, PepsiCo Inc. and many U.S. government agencies.

American Solutions for Business, Quote Juggler Announce Strategic Alliance

PSDA member American Solutions for Business (ASB), a promotional products industry leader, and Quote Juggler, a quote management services provider, recently announced a strategic alliance to deliver a comprehensive membership package for ASB's affiliate distributors across the United States. As part of this agreement, ASB's distributor members will receive substantial credits toward annual subscriptions to Quote Juggler's "Elite" distributor program, which delivers fast quotes for its promotional product jobs via e-mail, in addition to numerous sales and management tools to enhance productivity.

Label Works Becomes Underwriters Laboratories Authorized Supplier

PSDA member Label Works, a Navitor company, is now an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Authorized Label Supplier. Eric Jungmann, general manager of Label Works, said, "We continue to find new unique ways to help our customers sell deeper into the label marketplace. This is just a new tool to help make their selling easier." Although there are several label providers in the UL market, Label Works is taking a unique approach by providing educational and promotional materials to its channel partners to help them understand UL labels, how they are used and the ordering process. Label Works, with its 24-hour production time on its FasTurn label line, already produces labels for the industrial and manufacturing sectors, as well as the food and beverage, advertising, health care and financial industries. As UL tests safety standards in several of these markets, the UL authorization for supplying labels was a natural extension of Label Works' business.
