Online Registration is Live for the 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo

Mark your calendars and make your plans for the 2011 Print Solutions Conference and Expo – online registration is now open and early registration rates are good through March 22. The education programming is designed to increase your awareness of trends in the industry, showcase innovative products and solutions, and provide attendees with strategies to position your business to grow sales of print and related solutions. Sessions will be tailored for different audiences – including Principals, Sales and Customer Service professionals, and will feature experts from within the association and beyond. Program information will be updated daily through next week – so check the PSDA website and stay tuned for special announcements about specific programs and pre-event activities. It's going to be a "can't miss" event.

PSDA Partners with Total Traning Network to Offer Skills-based Professional Development to PSDA Member Companies

PSDA announces a new skills-based training program that is available to all active member companies and their employees at special PSDA member pricing. The program, offered in partnership with Total Training Network, was tailored for PSDA by your peers on the Education Committee. The PSDA professional development program provides member companies with access to a 12-course library of streaming video-based courses designed to improve the effectiveness of sales, customer service and management professionals. PSDA Staff Profile: Meet Joanne Bonaminio

Get to know members of your association staff in selected editions of the Print Solutions e-newsletter. This week, we feature Joanne Bonaminio.

What is your role on the PSDA staff team?
As PSDA's event services manager, I am responsible for the exhibit and trade show operations for the Print Solutions Conference and Expo, the Small Distributor Summit and any regional programs or events.

Please describe the background and experiences that you are bringing to your role with PSDA.
During the past 25-plus years, I have developed a broad base of experience in event management. I've worked on with a variety of professional organizations, including technology user groups, healthcare associations, and an association for international art dealers.
I previously worked for CMP Media – a business-to-business publishing and training company – in marketing and event management. I've also worked for MultiMedia Cable in a production capacity and in the membership and development department of the PBS/NPR affiliates in Bloomington, IN, where I was responsible for coordinating fund drive activities and managing the corps of student and community volunteers.

What are your first impressions of PSDA and the membership?
It's a pleasure to work with members who are committed to the association and willing to give their time and insight so that both the association and the industry can thrive.

What is one "fun fact" or surprising piece of information about you?
I'm fluent in an obscure dialect native to my parents' village, Montenero Valcocchiara, which is in Italy's Abruzzi-Molise region.

Strategic Print Alliance Re-elects Executive Team

Strategic Print Alliance members unanimously re-elected their executive team to an additional two-year term during their annual meeting in Atlanta on March 2. Dan Adkison, president and chief operating officer of Wright Enterprises, will continue to serve as the group's president; Bob Berardino, president and chief operating officer of The Flesh Company, will continue as vice president; and Gerard Winterbottom, chief financial officer of The Flesh Company, will continue as secretary and treasurer. Strategic Print Alliance, a PSDA member, is a network of best-in-class regional print manufacturers, offering a national manufacturing and distribution footprint to service customers of all sizes. "We have made significant accomplishments under the executive team's leadership over the last two years," said David Batson, executive director of Strategic Print Alliance. "With an aggressive agenda already in place, and the benefit of their vision and experience, we will continue to expand and enhance value for our members and end-user customers."

Folder Express' Cathy Cullinane Honored for Customer Service

Cathy Cullinane of PSDA member Folder Express recently was honored as "Customer Service Representative of the Year" by the trade association Printing Industries of the Midlands. Cullinane, who has been in customer service at Folder Express for 13 years and is considered a leader in the department, says she is "never bored" and is proud to have been a part of the many changes over the years, including introducing the standard one-day production time on the company's most popular folder styles and the evolution to online quoting and ordering of the standard 9x12, two-pocket folder. "Cathy has a remarkable knowledge of printing and finishing processes," said Doug Boysen, Folder Express president. "She is willing to teach and support anyone on the team and is always helpful to the customer."

E-Bisprint Appoints New Strategic Relationship Manager

PSDA member E-Bisprint Pty Limited, one of Australia's prominent print procurement and supply companies, recently appointed Tony Di Stefano as its strategic relationship manager. He brings more than 20 years of experience as a strategic sourcing specialist and communication services consultant within the corporate and government sectors. Di Stefano has led the development and implementation of sustainable cost reduction initiatives and print management methods for several top-tier organizations, including American Express, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Committee and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
