TELEHEALTH CONFERENCE 2011 Home Page
The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) invites you to attend our inaugural Rural and Remote Telehealtsh Conference, to be held from 29 - 31 May 2011 in Cairns.
The focus of this landmark forum will be to:
- Provide policy relevant input to Federal Government
- Articulate the strategic and operational attributes of telehealth
- Demonstrate operational key success protocols and practices
- Network with clinicians and high level executives with passion for telehealth
There is significant telehealth activity across Australia, however much of the activity remains in siloed initiatives. With telehealth now a major focus of the Australian Government's National Health and Hospitals Network reform agenda, this event will address the national impact and future direction of telehealth in Australia and provide key policy-relevant input to Federal Government, the National E-Health Transition Authority and the National Broadband Network.
This conference will explore the strategic and operational attributes of telehealth and the transformational change in health policy and practice that is required to create an environment for telehealth to effectively support health consumers and clinicians.
This forum will be an important opportunity for attendees to share the successes and challenges of telehealth and to discuss the issues and trends in healthcare delivery via telehealth nationally and internationally.
The HISA Rural and Remote Telehealth Conference is an important opportunity for senior level executives and managers both clinical and non-clinical, health policy makers, clinicians and healthcare professionals, health informaticians and academics who research and teach in the field of rural and remote health.
Event Themes
This event will bring together a range of international and national experts and leaders to explore the following themes:
The clinical user experience

HISA is thankful for the support of the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA), the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy (DBCDE) and the National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA).
