Julie Hartley-Jones CBE CEO Cairns and Hinterland Health Service District, Qld
Julie's background is in renal nursing for which she received a CBE in January 2000. She was a Director of Nursing in England and moved to Australia in 2006 as Area Director of Nursing for Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Service in NSW.
Julie moved from that role to Director of Clinical Operations in 2007 and came to Queensland in January 2009 as the CEO of Cairns and Hinterland Health Service District. The District stretches from Cow Bay in the North to Cardwell in the South and to the West across to Croydon. The District Health Service comprises of 14 hospitals and a number of community facilities, with a total headcount of just under 4,000 staff. The District is the biggest employer in Far North Queensland.
