The Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium

The Minnesota GIS/LIS consortium will hold its 11^th statewide conference on October 10-12, 2001 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center in Duluth, Minnesota.

Workshops

A variety of full- and half-day workshops will be offered on Wednesday, October 10^th. Workshop participants can select from a wide variety of workshop topics, ranging from general introductory topics to specialized technical topics. Complete workshop information will be included in the conference registration materials to be mailed in August. There will be a social event Wednesday evening. Further information will be included in conference materials.

Conference Format

The sessions and keynote speaker begin on Thursday, October 11, and continue through Friday, October 12. The conference includes plenary sessions, contributed presentations, a poster display, a demonstration showcase, and commercial exhibits. The conference will conclude Friday afternoon.

Printed Proceedings

Printed proceedings containing summaries of all presentations, panel discussions, demonstrations, and posters will be distributed to all registrants. Abstracts will be published on the Consortiums website.

Exhibit Hall

The vendor exhibit hall will feature products showing the latest GIS-related hardware, software, and GIS products and services. The exhibit hall will be open Thursday and Friday.

Evening Reception

Conference registration includes admission to the evening reception on Thursday. The reception will begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m. Snacks and refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. The reception will be held in the exhibit hall with all vendors present. Door prizes will be given away at 6:00 and 7:00.

Conference Information

• The Conference will begin with a keynote Speaker.
• Concurrent sessions will follow the opening program and continue through Friday noon.
• Conference registration includes lunch on Thursday and Friday, the evening reception on Thursday, and refreshments during breaks.
• Closing plenary sessions follows lunch on Friday.
• The conference will conclude with an award session and door prizes.
