Things to Know Before You Go

Here is a list of important information and tips to help you enjoy the meeting. If you have any questions, please email information@aahfn.org
 
Currency Exchange
The unit of currency used in Canada is the Canadian dollar. You can use US dollars at most places in Montreal, but many find it advantageous to have some Canadian money on hand. Another suggestion is to use your ATM card as you typically receive the best exchange rate from your bank.
 
Cell Phones
Be sure to contact your cell phone provider to find out about international coverage for phone calls, text, data and roaming fees. 
 
Customs
When departing and arriving at the airport, be sure to allow more time than usual to clear customs. (At least 2 hours)
 
Passport
Don’t forget to bring your passport! Remember to make a copy and leave it with someone you can reach out to at home.
 
International Jazz Festival
The International Jazz Festival will be taking place in Montreal from June 28- July 7. There will be plenty of shows and events throughout the city that week. Click Here to find out more information. 
 
Attire 
Please dress in layers so that you can be comfortable throughout the meeting.
 
Conference Presentations
Submitted session handouts have been posted online for Conference Registrants to preview and print. We kindly suggest you download and print any handouts you will need before you arrive in Montreal. If you need to print while you are at Conference, please refer to the hotel Business Center. Fees will apply. The Annual Conference handout link has been sent out in a separate email. Pre-Conference Workshop handout links have been sent to registrants by the AAHFN Meeting Coordinator.
 
Conference Recordings
Order AAHFN 9th Annual Conference presentation recordings on interactive CD-ROM from Rollin' Recording. Be sure to stop by their booth to order your copy of the recordings.
 
Evaluations
In order to receive a certificate of completion for the sessions you attended/fulfilled requirements for, it will be necessary to fill out a conference evaluation. Please be sure to follow the below steps:
Step 1: Keep Track of the sessions you attend
Step 2: Save your Badge / Registration Number
Step 3: Click here beginning June 26 to access the evaluation link 
 
Meals Provided During Conference
Please note in the Conference Program Book which sessions and events provide meals (served first-come first-serve basis) and plan accordingly. A list of nearby restaurants and options is available.
 
AAHFN Membership Booth
During the exhibit hall hours, copies of the Heart Failure Nursing Certification: Core Curriculum Review will be sold for a special Annual Conference price of $70. CHFN pins will also be sold for $10 and the recently published Basic Heart Failure Pocket Guides will also be sold for $10. Only credit cards or checks will be accepted for payment. No cash. 

AAHFN Poster-People's Choice Ballot
All attendees will receive a People's Choice Ballot for the AAHFN Posters in your conference bag. Please fill out the ballot and return to Registration by the end of exhibit hours on Friday. The winner will be selected and announced during the Awards and Grants Session on Saturday.

Saturday, June 29 - Promoting Heart Health Run / Walk - Meet in the lobby at 6:30 am
You can choose to walk or run the 45 minutes circuit!
