Additional Entertainment has been added to the Conference Agenda.

Take a ride on the North Shore Scenic Railroad! The NSSR, the excursion line of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, offers North Shore trips in classic coaches pulled by traditional engines.

The GIS/LIS Conference train will pick up passengers Thursday night, October 11, at the DECC at 8:00 PM, right after the door prize drawings. The train will travel up the North Shore to Palmer's Siding and then return, for a trip time of 2.5 hours.

This year's conference beer tasting will be held aboard the train. The tasting will be sponsored by the Lake Superior Brewing Company of Duluth, and the Boreal Bottlers Brew Club of Bemidji. A cash bar will also be available on the train.

Seating for this ride is limited. Tickets will be $20 per person. Home brewers are encouraged to bring beer or other fermented beverages to share, and any additional beer donations are always welcome. Any proceeds beyond the cost of the trip will be donated to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in the name of the GIS/LIS Consortium.
